I spend a sizable amount of time on the internet each day, much more than I should to be honest. However, most of the time I’m researching things for projects that I have going on around the house, products that I would like to purchase, or work related research.

This being said, I spent quite a bit of time researching winches for off-road vehicles lately, as I wanted to get one for my off-road project. When it comes to winches, there is one manufacture that stands out to almost everyone that is involved in the industry, and that would be Warn Winches. I knew this before I set-out on my researching quest, and I also knew that they were likely to be the most expensive option. I’m the type of person that likes to make the best purchase possible in regards to my perceived value to money spent, and this does not always align with the big name brand. With this purchase, Warn is the most expensive, yet they are arguably the best manufacture in regards to quality, warranty, service, and life span.

After conducting research about Warn’s offering, and looking to the cheaper “china” winches, I decided to gamble a bit on this purchase and went for the cheaper option from Amazon as I felt purchasing the Warn winch was purchasing the “name” so some extent. Only time will tell if my decision was a good one or not.

As far as a recommendation to the brand that I decided to purchase, I would say that they need to actually complete some marketing initiatives within the off-road industry. I had actually never heard of the brand Zeak prior to my purchasing research. The community of people involved in the off-road industry actually spend a surprising amount of time on the internet, much of which is spent on forums pertaining to off-road builds and products. Advertising here would likely yield in a substantial boost to their sales. Additionally, I think that they would embark on a marketing initiative via Facebook, by the way of targeted ad’s. As people are joining off-roading groups, or searching for automotive parts on Marketplace, Zeak could easily gain sales by placing ad’s for their products in front of this consumer base.
