Purpose: To introduce the student to the Request for Information process using computer assisted coding technology as the subject matter.

Assignment:

Part 1:

Research computer assisted coding technology. Compare the features of computer assisted coding systems (CAC) by accessing the following three companies on their Internet web sites. Develop a Product Evaluation Matrix to display your results and select which vendors to contact. You should have several features for comparison. They should not be exclusive to technological features. There are also accounts management and customer service features to consider as well. See if you can find some industry or consumer reviews of the product to assist you.

Use the following format for your table:

• Features in the left column organized by rows

• Companies along the top row with “X” in the columns to represent products offering the specific feature.

Part 2:

Take your list of features and formulate a list of questions to ask prospective vendors regarding their products based on the features deemed most important to you. These questions will narrow the list of companies to contact for RFQ’s and formulate the basis for choosing your company to request a RFP.
