Given that religion has has a different/unexpected effect on effect on cohabitation in Quebec, Canada; it would be nice to find an argument that explains why religious couples may opt for marriage in other countries or even provinces in Canada, but that the more religiously diverse a community is, the more likely people there are to prefer cohabitation regardless of religious beliefs. especially given that Quebec is a traditionally Catholic society. Basically, this paper is to show how religious couples traditionally chose marriage over cohabitation, and prove how its different for certain communities or couples, despite religion and why. what makes let’s say Quebec special?
