This is a biology based paper (biomedical science) but it has aspects of psychology. A study has been conducted using about 250 participants to test whether consuming dark chocolate increases brain performance. There are 8 groups of participants :4 groups in Burwood Group A1 – No chocolate and Play Lumosity Brain Training Game 2 times per week. Group A2 – Eat 20g of dark chocolate (Lindt 80%) per day for 20 days and Play Lumosity Brain Training Game 2 times per week. Group A3 – No chocolate and Play Lumosity Brain Training Game everyday. Group A4 – Eat 20g of dark chocolate (Lindt 80%) per day for 20 days and Play Lumosity Brain Training Game everyday. 4 groups in Geelong Group A1 – No chocolate and Play Lumosity Brain Training Game 2 times per week. Group A2 – Eat 20g of white chocolate (Lindt) per day for 20 days and Play Lumosity Brain Training Game 2 times per week. Group A3 – No chocolate and Play Lumosity Brain Training Game everyday. Group A4 – Eat 20g of white chocolate (Lindt) per day for 20 days and Play Lumosity Brain Training Game everyday. Data collected by the 8 groups of participants will be analysed to investigate whether consuming 20g of dark chocolate daily in addition to daily brain training through Lumosity (online brain training platform) increases the performance in cognitive abilities, which will be measured by the Lumosity Performance Index.
