Description
TOPIC: This study tested the effects of how hand hygiene compliance in an acute health care setting decreased the incidence of hospital acquired infection. The patient care staff of an acute care unit was evaluated on compliance with hand hygiene and compared to the overall incidence of hospital acquired infection. An independent samples t-test was used to compare hand hygiene compliance of nursing staff to the incidence of hospital acquired infection before and after an educational seminar that was provided by the infection control department of the acute care facility.
