You will not find a chapter in your textbook titled  “Rebuttal Argument.”  READ in your textbook pages 17 – 67.      These pages will help you understand the conditions of presenting an academic argument.   For your essay #1, your opponent is Swift’s narrator, who uses appeals to logos, ethos, and pathos to make a proposal argument.  Reading pages 17- 67 will help you understand these strategies of appealing to logos, ethos, and pathos.      Use counterclaims to show that your REBUTTAL is more convincing that the argument put forth by Jonathan Swift’s narrator.  Counterclaims can be in the form of refutations and counterarguments.   A refutation shows that the opposing claim is wrong.
