Prenatal Development and Birth

Prenatal Development and Birth.

Write a reflection of Chapter 4 Prenatal Development and Birth Textbook: Sigelman, C.K., & Rider, E.A. (2015). Life-Span Human Development (8th ed.) Journal Assignments – Overview Modules that do not have a discussion board assignment or an exam attached to them will instead contain a journal assignment. Similar to discussion board assignments, the journal assignments are intended to be a compendium of personal reflections; however, unlike the discussion board, the journals created in Blackboard are private between you and your instructor. Journal entries will each be worth a maximum of 20 points, and will be graded based on four criteria: 1. Depth of reflection and/or creativity of response: The purpose of these journal entries is for you to engage in deeper, more critical thinking on some of the topics from the textbook than you ordinarily would from just passively reading about them. As such, the most critical component of the assignment is to demonstrate your ability to think about the question(s) and formulate a meaningful response that goes beyond a cursory attempt to simply complete the requirement. 2. Evidence of connecting your response with the readings: In addition to including a large degree of subjective personal reflection, your responses to the journal assignment should also include reference to the material from the textbook and/or outside resources. You do not need to include any sort of formally formatted “citations” in your responses, but terms/concepts from the textbook/resources should be used throughout your response. 3. Grammar/sentence structure: This component refers to the importance of taking the time to proof-read your work before submitting it. Journal entry responses should be free of simple mistakes such as poor spelling and fragmented sentences. It is highly recommended that your type your journal entries in a word processor first, so that many spelling and grammatical mistakes can be quickly screened and fixed. This is not a writing course, but the responses should be indicative of someone who is submitting a college-level assignment. 4. Length of Response: The instructions for each journal entry will specify the minimum length requirement (i.e., number of sentences) for the response to each question.
