ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Read the Draft Blicq and Black Wineries Memorandum on Page 3.
  2. Revise the memo so that it has all of the essential information, but such that is it concise, accessible and precise.

Instructions:

  1. Read the draft memo on the page below carefully to examine its weaknesses in writing style.
  2. Revise the data in the memo so that it is converted to reader-oriented and accessible Information. Make sure that it is as accessible, concise and parallel as possible. You DO NOT have to add any additional details.
  3. Look carefully for logical Who, What, Where, When, Why and How organizational patterns to structure the memo into small paragraphs, and signify paragraph breaks clearly with white space.
  4. There needs to be at least one bulleted list.

TO: All Maintenance Staff

FROM: Dr. Nancy Awtar, Medical Officer

DATE: June 10, 2017

SUBJECT: Important: Lifestyle and Fitness Test Announcement

Is has been decided by Senior management at Blicq and Black Wineries has decided that we should be as fit as possible. I think that it would be in the best interest of the company and its employees that we should be as fit as possible. As staffing permits, your Operations Manager will make arrangements over the next two weeks to release all personnel from all three shifts to go to the YMCA, which is located at 808 Burrard St.. At this above-mentioned facility, staff will be taken through a lifestyle and fitness test. Anyone on the evening shift can attend before their shift by arranging a time with their Division supervisor. The testing is given weekdays between 0700 and 1900 hours . Morning shift personnel will be released at 1300 hours. The testing will take two hours and they don’t need to return to work. The Y requires that you wear T-shirts, shorts and bring running shoes to take the test. Those on the afternoon shift will be given three hours off from their shift on the day they go to take the test. This will result in their start time being 6:00 pm instead of 3:00 pm. All of the employees who take the above test must check to ensure that you obtain a copy of their completed test results upon completion of the test. I want you to follow these instructions when you return to work after the test. You have to submit these forms to the Human Resources office as soon as you return to work. You must contact me prior to your scheduled test if an employee cannot attend their test. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated by me. You should also contact me if you have any questions regarding the above-discussed matter.
