What’s your take on “Externalities” (passing along some or all of the cost(s) of a product or service to a third party that doesn’t get any benefit from the consumption of the product or service)? Why should large companies be expected to ‘give back’ to off-set their externalities use when the average American does not? Don’t we all have to pay a share of taxes, and that is what gets divvied up to pay for a bunch of things – things we might not ever use or need. Like fire departments, paved roads through desolate back-country areas, and all sorts of useless stuff our tax money buys in both Mass and across the US
