The current health care environment faces many challenges which lead to increased demands upon the individual nurse, nursing as a profession, and the entire multidisciplinary team.  For our first discussion this week, we will be focusing on how knowledge is generated using NI. Clinical information systems and Integrated Data Support Tools help nurses individually and collectively create knowledge.  You may be fortunate enough to work in settings that have maximized information technologies for nursing practice.  Clinical information systems and clinical decision support applications assist in the development of new nursing knowledge.  Please reflect and think about what informatics related possibilities are available to support the advancement and foundation of new nursing knowledge. Please include your own personal experiences in your discussions
