Respond to an email that suggests an unethical practice.
Imagine that you’re an intern for the law fi rm Dewey, Wright, and Howe. As part of a team, you’re developing an Orientation Plan for future interns. Your team receives the email on the next page from the HR recruiter at the fi rm. In small groups, fi rst discuss the situation and why this is an ethical dilemma. Then, on your own, write an email to respond to Mark’s suggestion. You will want to balance ethics with tone to avoid accusing Mark of anything inappropriate and potentially making him feel defensive. When you’re fi nished, share your draft with your group members and compare emails. Which works best and why?

consider what additional scorecard metrics you might want to include based on the suggestions below Explain why.
Metrics are used to drive improvements and help businesses focus their people and resources on what’s important (Forrest, n.d.). For any new product, the company needs to have suppliers to provide the supplies that are used. The materials need to have high quality, reliability, and consistency for the products to be great. There are several measurements that I will use for my milestones and capstones. The first measurement is the responsiveness of the supplier. When the company orders parts from the supplier, I would like to know if the supplier is responding quickly. Without the responsiveness of the suppliers, we would not know if the project will be finished on time or early. Secondly, I would use the percentage of returned parts. This is important to know because getting bad parts can delay the new product or service from getting into the market. This also causes more cost to ship the parts back and to ship the parts to back to the company. Lastly, I would have a metric for on-time shipping. If we are selling this new product, knowing if the parts are on time or not will determine how much supply we have. Customers will look at other companies if the product is not available there. These metrics will help improve the processes, quality, and supply so that customers will be satisfied and continue to do business with the company.
